Dear Green Thumb,
They say money doesn’t grow on trees…
but what if something better did?
Food does.
Nourishment does.
Life does.
I keep thinking about this little dream:
What if every person planted just one food tree?
Just one.
A peach tree in Georgia.
An apple tree in New England.
An orange tree in Arizona.
A pecan tree in the South.
A walnut tree in the Midwest.
A fig tree in California.
A berry bush where nothing else wants to grow.
Imagine walking down your street and seeing fruit hanging overhead, free for anyone to pick. Imagine a neighborhood where no one has to ask permission to take an orange on their way home from work or pluck an apple on their morning walk.
It’s such a small thing – one tree.
But one tree becomes a thousand.
And a thousand becomes a movement.
A quiet revolution of nourishment, shade, beauty, and shared abundance.
Money may never grow on trees…
but food does.
Kindness does.
Hope does.
Maybe planting one tree is how we begin.
🌳💛
