An Introduction to Philosophy (RLL style) Week 04 – Metaphysics 1 (The Nature of Reality) – Part 4: Wanna see something really scary?

Dear Placebo,

In the grand tapestry of reality, it’s often the intangible that shapes our world the most. Just as a placebo can heal the mind, revealing the power of belief and perception, so too can our thoughts and emotions craft what we call “real.”

Metaphysical idealism whispers that our minds can shape the essence of existence. The forms of love, fear, and dreams often transcend the physical, painting reality with colors beyond mere matter.

In our journey, we challenge the notion that the physical is the sole reality. Instead, we see that what we believe and feel can become just as real, if not more so, than the tangible world around us.

So, dear reader, as we delve into the heart of metaphysical idealism, we ask you to consider: Could it be that the mind itself holds the key to the true nature of reality? And if so, what does that mean for how we experience the world?

In this dance between mind and matter, we find that sometimes what’s unseen is the truest form of existence.
