Finding Common Ground with Your Enemy

Dear Brave Souls,

This one’s a bit of a dare: what if we tried to find something in common with the people we consider our enemies? It’s easy to see the differences, to focus on the things that divide us, but it’s a lot harder – and maybe a lot more important – to look for the things we share. It could be something as simple as a love for our families, a hope for a better future, or a shared experience that reminds us that we’re all human.

This isn’t about excusing harm or ignoring the real differences that exist. It’s about opening a door to empathy, even if it’s just a crack. Because sometimes, the most dangerous and radical idea is to reach out and find that one point of connection that can change the whole conversation.

So here’s to the brave souls willing to look for the humanity in those they disagree with. It might just be the first step toward turning enemies into unlikely allies.

With a wink and a leap of faith,
