Dear Creative Giver,
When I was in college, I sold plasma for a few extra bucks. It was a small thing – a way to stretch my ramen budget and get by. But I didn’t think much about the bigger picture back then.
Years later, life gave me a reason to look at it differently. When my mom needed blood transfusions during her battle with leukemia, I realized just how constant and precious that need is. So I started giving blood regularly – not just for her, but for anyone who might need that lifeline. It became a ritual, a way of honoring her memory and also remembering that I have something simple to give.
Not everyone can give blood, and that’s okay. Maybe you can’t spare a pint, but maybe you have something else to give: a skill, a piece of knowledge, a bit of time. The point is, we all have something renewable inside us – something we can share that might just change someone else’s life.
Because giving isn’t just about what you lose – it’s about what you gain. Every time we give a little of ourselves, we get something priceless in return: a sense of connection, a deeper kind of health, a spiritual wealth that you can’t buy or hoard. It’s a reminder that the act of giving is the only way to receive certain kinds of joy.
So here’s my invitation to you: find your version of giving blood. Maybe it’s a donation, maybe it’s a favor, maybe it’s just a smile or a bit of your time. Whatever it is, know that it’s worth more than money. It’s a gift that keeps the world a little kinder and your own heart a little fuller.
With love and a full heart,
