Dear Canadian Neighbors — Thanks for the Reminder

Dear Canadian Neighbors,

First off, thank you. That ad you ran – the one where you used an old Ronald Reagan speech about how tariffs hurt everyone – might be the best public service announcement of the year.

You didn’t need to make it snarky or partisan. You simply let Reagan speak for himself, reminding us that economic nationalism and isolationism aren’t strength – they’re fear dressed up as patriotism.

And right on cue, like a haunted cuckoo clock in a hall of mirrors, Trump lost his mind over it. He cut off trade talks, threatened new tariffs, and once again proved that truth is the one thing his movement can’t handle.

But that’s the thing about truth – it doesn’t care who’s yelling. It doesn’t bend for polls, profits, or pride. It just is.
And right now, it’s radical.

Because in a world where lies are marketed as policy, and outrage is broadcast as leadership, simply telling the truth – calmly, clearly, compassionately – becomes an act of rebellion.

So thank you, Canada, for reminding us of that. You held up a mirror to our madness and said, politely as ever, “We thought you might want to see this.”

We do. We need to.
Because it’s not just about tariffs – it’s about values. About remembering that compassion, cooperation, and honesty aren’t weaknesses. They’re the cornerstones of democracy.

So here’s to you, our northern siblings in sanity. Keep the lights on for us. We’re still trying to find our way back home.

With love,
— The Radical Left ❤️
